Launch of our original project “The Tributaries”
7 JanFor a while now, Streetcar Samba has been seeking for a way to separate their original music from their cover band act. After a while, we decided that our original music needed to be isolated from our cover band. With such high demand for cover music, our original music sort of lost its identity. To solve this, we have created an entirely separate band called “The Tributaries”. Streetcar Samba and The Tributaries have the same members. To experience our newest project you can come to our debut performance at Southport Hall right off river road in New Orleans. We will be the first of three showcases including Luke Starkiller and Musicfromchaos. Hope to see as many people as possible out to this show. Once again, thanks to all of our die hard fans who have been with us since the beginning. You are the true believers. We are finally finding our feet in this “music world” with the release of our first professionally recorded EP, expected to release late January.

STREETCAR SAMBA IS GOING TO UNDERGO A BIT OF A CHANGE WITH THE RELEASE OF OUR FIRST STUDIO RECORDED EP:
Streetcar Samba started in November of 2010. This 5 piece band consists of a drummer, a bass player, a keyboard player, a guitar player, and a singer. Streetcar Samba has put out one home recorded album of music as their starting point. Since then, they have been writing new songs and building a setlist of cover music in preparation of mitosis. Soon, Streetcar Samba will be the entertainment and cover band while the other project (name will be released end of december 2011/early Jan 2012) will become our original band. This mitosis of the band will allow us to showcase our own music and entertain with cover music. Preparations have begun for this mitosis stage. First, we will be creating an EP with The Music Shed Studios in New Orleans under a new name. Second, we will make this music available on ITunes internationally. Finally, we will begin to showcase our music live and even possibly tour in the near future.
The morning of December 21st we will announce online the title of our new original project. Stay tuned either on our website, Twitter, or Facebook.
Love, Streetcar Samba
